I love all chats on WhatsApp. Not only are they helpful, but they have always been a great friend. My social media life has changed drastically. People can see who I go see, and I get to know what my friends are up to at all times – even if it’s just from their messages. The thing that feels like the absolute best part of this whole experience is being able to message your old classmates and share memories together! It’s so nice to be close with everyone and share our secrets! A single Facebook account doesn’t feel quite right anymore. We’ve gone through some difficult times since Instagram was taken down. But no matter how much we’re not using platforms as much as before…I sure as hell don’t want to lose these wonderful people.
Maybe you’re looking for an alternative way of deleting groups and you’re scared of losing someone who genuinely cares about you. Or maybe you’re worried about what a person will think of you when they realise that there are still two groups linked to the same email address. Well, you needn’t worry about that now, because in this article I’m going to show you how to delete WhatsApp groups and make them disappear altogether. You’ll be surprised how easily and quickly you can do this.
How To Delete Groups In WhatsApp
To delete a WhatsApp group:
First off, let’s talk about the most common ways to remove WhatsApp groups. These are:
Go to settings > All > Chats & Contacts > Settings > Chats & Contacts > Deactivate/remove a group from your phone > Chats & Contacts > Disappear Groups from your device
Well, there are a few Different Methods of Deletion and you can Choose from one of two Options:
Using Desktop – This works extremely well and is really free. First, run the app. Then, select “Desktop” and then select “Delete group” to delete the group. Now you’re done! Next, go back to your desktop and open the folder where you created the group. Run the app again and you’ll hear a notification on your phone – a countdown timer warning will appear! Once it finishes, you’ll receive a confirmation message asking you to confirm the deletion.
Using Android + Apple – When you’re using an iPhone or Mac, this is one of the easiest ways to delete groups. There are three ways you can do this – you can drag a file to the trash using the Finder App which does it automatically for you. Alternatively, you can select the option to hide the group from notifications and then pick a date and time range from the dropdown list of the app (there are hundreds of suitable date ranges!). Or, you can press the OK button to accept or deny the request to delete the group. Lastly, you need to ensure that you don’t see any information about the deleted groups while you’re deleting, whether that be due to the last message you sent or anything else.
If you want to stop the process from starting again after your final deletion, you can change the expiration date. At the time of writing this, the WhatsApp groups in question were set to expire on April 9th, 2021, meaning you could have seen some activity and not heard anything for days.
After reading through that note and considering, yes, I’m completely fine with you removing everything related to groups and saving me any hard feelings, you should. If you’re thinking otherwise, I would advise against deleting them all…for one reason or another. Just because everyone is going to forget about you or move on doesn’t mean it’s completely over.
What About Privacy and Safety?
We’ve talked about the importance of keeping your data safe and secure, but let’s face it, a large percentage of all personal info in the world is already shared online. Do you really want to keep protecting yourself when Facebook is tracking your every movement on their servers behind the scenes and can see where you’ve been? Also, are you scared of anyone turning nasty when someone discovers that someone has deleted a particular group? That’s a very important question, but it’s one that shouldn’t stop you from having fun. So you may want to ask yourself, “What makes privacy and safety paramount for us?”
So how long do you allow your users to post their updates? Well, technically, there are no limits on how long users can keep posting content. On the flip side, there is nothing stopping them from creating private messages for themselves. Besides, there’s no way for anybody’s admin to have access to read any members’ messages. However, regardless of the country, the majority of people will be able to see your content regardless.
As mentioned earlier, all of your users can add one, but at the moment there are only 6 groups each containing 15 users. So far, the two largest groups in terms of size are the US and Canada, which have a combined 793K members. The remaining groups around the world are Brazil, India, Japan, Nigeria, Pakistan, Turkey, UAE, UK, Sri Lanka, Spain, Sweden, the USA, Australia, and China.
Each group can have 500 people. So what happens when there are 1 million members in your WhatsApp group? Well, it’ll take weeks before they can log into each one to see what’s happening.
So what are you waiting for?! Open your WhatsApp group and begin to invite any of your existing groups to come and talk to
