Virginia Giuffre, a key accuser in the Jeffrey Epstein case, recently shared on Instagram that she is in the hospital after being involved in a car accident with a school bus. Giuffre, who has publicly accused Prince Andrew of sexual abuse, posted a photo from her hospital bed, showing significant bruising on her face.
Accident Details and Discrepancies

In the post, Virginia Giuffre stated, “I’ve gone into kidney renal failure, and they’ve given me four days to live.” However, authorities in Australia, where she lives, have questioned the severity of her injuries. Giuffre explained that a school bus, traveling at 110 km/h (68 mph), collided with her car while it was slowing for a turn, though she did not provide details on the time or location of the incident.
Authorities Question Severity of Injuries
Virginia Giuffre spokesperson, Dini von Mueffling, confirmed the accident to CNN, saying, “Virginia has been in a serious accident and is receiving medical care in the hospital. She greatly appreciates the support and well wishes people are sending.”
Despite Giuffre’s claims, Western Australia Police referred to the incident as a “minor” crash between a car and a bus near Perth on March 24, noting that the car sustained about $2,000 ($1,250) in damage and no injuries were reported.
Giuffre’s Spokesperson Confirms Hospitalization
A source with knowledge of the situation clarified that Giuffre is currently being treated in a Perth hospital but is not in a life-threatening condition. The source confirmed the bruising shown in Giuffre’s photo but stated that she has not explained to hospital staff how the injuries occurred.
Prince Andrew and Giuffre’s Legal Battle
Giuffre is known for her accusations against Epstein, who allegedly trafficked and abused her when she was 17. She has also claimed that Prince Andrew was involved in her abuse, a charge the prince has consistently denied. In 2021, Giuffre filed a lawsuit against Prince Andrew for sexual abuse, which was settled the following year for an undisclosed amount. As part of the settlement, Andrew agreed to donate a substantial sum to Giuffre’s charity supporting victims’ rights.
Epstein’s Arrest and Death
Epstein, who had pleaded guilty to prostitution charges in 2008, was arrested again in July 2019 on federal sex trafficking charges. He died by suicide in prison before standing trial for his crimes.
