Unfortunately, bad leadership is all too common. The latest research shows 75% of people leave companies because of their manager. This means a lot of people go to work every day either dread seeing their manager or just show up for the paycheck. Either way, it’s a problem.
Here are 3 things you should do if you have a bad manager.
Aligning to your leader’s style allows for a bond of mutual trust to form. Without building trust with your bad leader it will be a rocky road the entire way.
Once you have built trust with this leader now it’s time you make them aware of their shortcomings. This can be a difficult task to find the right situation and communication medium and go ahead and rip band-aid off.
If nothing changes after making your leader aware multiple times then it’s time to move on elsewhere. Life is too short to work for someone who doesn’t have your best interests in mind and make you a better professional.
